Intro
The company has developed a personal data synthesis solution based on artificial intelligence systems. Briefly, this solution makes it possible to create a dataset of “fake” information, i.e. not referable to actually existing people, who, however, maintain the same statistical potential as the original dataset. This makes it possible to use information that is very “effective” from a statistical point of view (for example for training artificial intelligence systems or for guiding decision-making processes) which, however, cannot be qualified as personal data - thus excluding the need to comply with current provisions on privacy -.
This solution is particularly promising in a number of sectors, such as those of the smart city and healthcare.
Challenge
This solution had to be adapted to current legislation, in order to ensure compliance with the provisions on the protection of personal data and with the new European legislation on artificial intelligence.
In addition, it was necessary to support the client company in promoting its solution, creating its own network of users of the solution within sectors where data synthesis techniques can have very promising applications.
Solution
DVC intervened in various ways:
- offering strategic advice in order to help the company to model its solution for applicability to specific market sectors (e.g. smart city, finance, healthcare);
- encouraging the creation of a network of subjects interested in using this solution in their business context;
- guiding the customer in the process of adaptation to the GDPR and the AI Act.
Results
The benefits obtained by the customer are:
- growth of its business thanks to the entry into strategic markets, whose players can benefit significantly from data synthesis techniques;
- adaptation of its solution to current legislation and, consequently, offering a technological solution that complies with all industry regulations.
